FREE AFTERSCHOOL CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP
We’re delighted to announce that GCCA is sponsoring a FREE creative writing workshop for
children in 1st to 4th grades. Titled Beats and Rhymes, the workshop will explore the rhythm of words and the wonderful surprises created through rhyming. Participants will write
performable poems, songs, and raps.
Five Tuesdays, 4-5 p.m.

Beats and Rhymes was created by and will be led by Cosmic Writers (CW), a non-profit organization that promotes the joy and confidence-building potential of creative writing. Since 2020, CW has run Word Camp, a summer program of week-long immersive writing workshops for elementary, middle, and high-school students. Recently, CW has added afterschool workshops to its growing and imaginatively themed offerings.
Dr. Vivianne Nachmias has made possible our sponsorship of Beats and Rhymes through a
generous donation to GCCA’s Education Committee. Dr. V has always said it’s important to
nourish childhood curiosity and make learning exciting.
